| Rip Tide is a beautiful, kind and powerful young 6yr old Holsteiner stallion who is simultaneously being developed as a dressage horse and a show jumper. This versatility is made possible by his outstanding balanced frame. Rip Tide recently participated in the North American Stallion Sport Test and acquitted himself well. Quite possibly his most outstanding feature is that he is very smart and simply does whatever you ask him to do. His first foals are on the ground in 2018 and share his powerful frame and great mind.
Rip Tide's sire, Riverman, is well known for his ability in dressage and for how he excelled in producing athletes. Riverman's sire, Redfort, was a successful Grand Prix dressage horse, but descends from lines best known for their show jumping talent. Redfort is by Rebel Z, the full brother to Olympic Medalists Ratina Z and Renomee Z. Rebel Z was ranked as the top jumper sire in 1995/1996 by the WBFSH and is also the broodmare sire of Hanoverian State Stallion El Bundy.
Riverman descends from the Holsteiner Stamm 4 through his dam Alexis III. Her sire Landego is a son of the legendary Landgraf I. Another legendary Holsteiner stallion, Cor de la Bryere, is found further back in Alexis III's pedigree. Furthermore, Riverman's offspring set him apart as a truly exceptional sire. We rarely see the results that Riverman's offspring have produced in so many different venues and at all levels.
Rip Tide's dam, Solid Silver's Girl, is by Solid Silver. Solid Silver's sire, the Selle Francais stallion, Silbersee, was a very successful international jumper. Solid Silver is from the Holsteiner stamm 2067, the well-respected mare line. This stamm has produced numerous international jumpers.
Performance Records:
Approved in 2018 Rip Tide is living up to his pedigree by showing competitively in both dressage and show jumping. He has proven to be as good minded and trainable as he is versatile in his athleticism. He has a refined head set on a clean throat latch and elegant neck. His compact frame, large bone and correct legs support a very strong top line and hip allowing him to excel over jumps and in dressage. Dressage: In 2020 he will be showing PSG and schooling Grand Prix. Show jumping: Rip Tide is schooling 1.50m and showing at 1.20m.
During the 2019 North American Stallion Sport Test Rip Tide was presented as a show jumper and received 8's in canter, scope, rideability and overall impression. This is the sire of high performance horses with amateur friendly temperaments.
Breeding /Progeny Record:
2018 was Rip Tide's first year in the breeding shed. His first breedings have resulted in good minded well made offspring. His first colt offered for sale was purchased as a dressage prospect by a professional trainer. We are excited to see how these foals mature! Rip Tide continues to be shown in dressage and show jumping and offered at stud through fresh shipped semen.
