Mares

When coming to an inspection, please, make sure to bring all important documents for the inspection and registration along:

For mares which should be entered into a Mare Book, we need to see the original registration document and we need one xerox of it for the registry's file. If the registration document does not show the required three generation pedigree (as JC documents don't) we need an official printout of the four generation pedigree. This should be provided by the owner (For Jockey Club mares you may call for full pedigree: (606) 224-2800, 800-333-1778 or www.equineline.com). No other website print is valid. If the Registry has to do the pedigree research, there is a $20.00 surcharge.

Foals

  1. When coming to an inspection, please, make sure to bring all important documents for the inspection and registration along:

Please make sure to bring along the completed original breeding certificate issued by the stallion owner and also signed by your veterinarian, showing the last breeding date and the exact date of birth.
Foals that have already been weaned at the date of inspection, yearlings (as well as two year olds and older) need a letter of parentage verification (done by DNA typing: Forms for mare AND foal may be retrieved from the services section). Foals by Breeding Permit (foreign stallions and formerly approved but not active ISR-Oldenburg NA stallions) stallions must also be DNA typed. Their dams must only be DNA typed, if the foal is not presented at an inspection, but registered "by mail".
